COPY (digital) vs. PRINTING (offset)

We consider this with every job. What is the difference?

Offset printing is a commonly used printing technique in which the inked image is transferred (or “offset”) from a plate to a soft rubber blanket, then to the printing surface. This method is best used for jobs with large
quantities and no variable data.

Digital printing refers to methods of printing from a digital based imager, such as a copier, directly to a variety of media. Digital printing has a higher cost per page than more traditional offset printing methods, but this price is usually countered by the cost saved in avoiding all the technical steps needed to make printing plates and setting up the press. It also allows for on demand printing, short turn around, and even a modification of the image (variable data) with each impression.

USA Quickprint uses both methods of printing at both of our locations. When you place an order we will choose the most effective method with the highest quality to meet your deadline and budget.

QR Codes: Now I get it

About a year ago I downloaded a QR Code reader on my iPhone and started clicking away to see what this was all about. I thought it was interesting, but other things took priority and it did not get the attention it deserved. This past week while with a bunch of printers I now see the value. But only if used properly!

QR Codes are here to stay and very convenient for mobile device users. The new mobile devices are coming with QR Code readers included in them.

After my second look at QR Codes a year later I now get it. On the way flying home last week I started scanning the codes on airport signage, in magazines, on brochures. Some were great, others stunk badly. We now have another bazooka for marketing and what you do with this technology is important. Don’t use it for the cool factor, but to add value and use your creativity.

After testing different material we finally found the perfect canvas material for our wide format printer. What does this mean for you? We can now reproduce your masterpiece (children’s art, photos, watercolors, oil paintings, drawings, and much more) on fine art material. The material can easily be stretched over a wooden frame or placed into a traditional frame for the perfect gift or décor.
